Dangers

One of the greatest dangers in researching microfungi is nature itself. Whilst collecting you can fall out of a tree or being attacked by a great number of insects and ticks. One of the worst is Ixodus ricinus (the sheep tick) who can infect you with the Borrelia burgdorferi bacterial spirochete that causes Lyme disease.
